We Moved In!

Moving is both very fun and very un-fun! I love to scout out new places to live and take apartment or house tours and think about the potential of places. I like walking into a new place and seeing it all empty and planning out what to put where. I like sitting in my new place after all the work is done and enjoying all the choices we have made. I do NOT like anything in between the planning and the sitting! This move was a big one because we went from having a place with a basement, an attic and lots of big closets to having an apartment with some closets and no basement or attic (although we do have a storage room that we rent in addition to the apartment and is in the same building, which is fantastic!). I decided that we needed to unpack very carefully and really get rid of some more stuff and only store important stuff. So, slowly, we made progress. Finally, I was very motivated on Saturday when Rich was away on an overnight to put the finishing touches on the place, unpack the last few boxes, put up some pictures and clean up the clutter around the edges. On Sunday, we went and got some chairs for our kitchen table and curtain rods. Luckily, curtains from our old apartments worked just find in this apartment and it's AMAZING what a great finishing touch that was! We are both feeling relaxed and at home now that everything is finished. Here are some pictures of the process...enjoy!

Step 1: Waiting for stuff to arrive and getting a new puppy. Thank goodness we packed the beach chairs in the car!

Step 2: Rooms full of boxes and Otis doesn't know what to do!

Step 3: Stuff everywhere and building projects. There aren't a lot of pictures because it was too embarrassing!

Step 4: FINALLY!
